Trying to contact Pete Bond. The link to the guitar group in Rochdale where he teaches doesn't work. Anyone got any contact details for him?
Cheers! Marting

Peter lives near Rochdale and still plays with a variety of line-ups in the locality. He performed at Mickleby a year of os ago - doing his own songs mostly. Saw him last night at the Iron Horse in Newton Aycliffe - he came with brother Trevor to see Eddie Walker and Frank Porter, and Pete and Trevor did a duet floor spot.

Well this has been an uplifting g read. Good to knowPeteris still alive and well and playing music . As everyone else has said what a great writer , very fine singer/performer too and a really nice bloke. Always willing to chart about his songs, answer questions, clarify lyrics and when not on stage in the years I saw him a few times, around 80-83 from memory, he sat in the audience, sang along, joined in the choruses and encouraged the floor singers. I first saw him at Redcar festival 80ish and soon after bought it's all right for some. Great record and used to do Joe Peel and Letter from Sunderland myself.I also loved Lark across the vapour trail. I recently heard Act of God at an evening of songs related to mining. Great song and locally resonant for me living in South Yorkshire as a miner's son. I'd love tocatch him live again or get reissues of his records.

I only saw Peter Bond once, in around 1977/8 when he performed at a folk night held by my school, Hummersknott Comprehensive in Darlington. Some of my teachers had formed a folk group called The Forum, so the pie and pea folk nights were very popular. He was amazing and that concert started off my life long love of folk music. A prize possession of mine is his LP - It's alright for some, which was he signed for me. Unfortunately, I do not have a deck any more so would dearly love to have it on CD. Lovely to hear that he still performs. It would be amazing to see him again.

I remember Peter. My wife Jill and I were in his evening school guitar class in Shaw for a couple of years. He was a great teacher - so entertaining, a gifted musician with such a generous spirit. Happy days indeed.

Peter came to University College London Folk Club in 1977/8, the organiser was a fan from Peter's home area and had often sung his songs. I still have the signed LP and made a cassette of it (still playable after 40+ years!). Such brilliant lyrics, simply accompanied on a guitar, and a really nice guy. Would love to see him again...

I am a huge fan of Peter from days of yore. I actually met him in Rochdale in 2015 where he was still teaching. Have lost contact again now! Love most of his songs and would like to get hold of them, but it seems difficult and there are no CD versions and he is not on Spotify or Youtube?

Do you mean the modern jazz piano player in the style of Oscar Peterson? Played at The Dive Club, Chislehurst in the 1970s as The Peter Bond Trio. If you do, he is alive and well, living in California where he still plays in a neighbourhood covers band.

I had never heard of Peter until a friend played me ‘It’s alright for Some’ the other day. Utterly beautiful. Was instantly stunned by ‘Birthday Cake City’ but wish I could make out all the words through the crackles on this magical piece of vinyl. If anyone can supply them I’d be most grateful x
