Subject: Irish band wanted - Brentwood, Essex From: Doug Chadwick Date: 20 Dec 15 - 12:35 PM My daughter's friend will be getting married on 31st August 2016 in the Brentwood area of Essex. She is looking for a folk style band to entertain the guests. She is not looking for a ceilidh band for dancing but rather a band to play music, preferably Irish, for people to sit and listen to. Can anyone recommend any good contacts? DC |

Subject: RE: Irish band wanted - Brentwood, Essex From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 23 Dec 15 - 08:58 AM Doug, can you email me on bonnieharp (a) hotmail . com Word of warning, I'm based on the south coast of Ireland and there are heavy storm warnings here (you know to take it seriously when they give it a name: Eva) so it means we may lose our internet. But I will get back to you - I can think of some excellent people to suggest, but don't want to splash their names publicly without permission. My partner Michael grew up in that area and it's old familiar stomping ground for me too. All the best, Bonnie |

Subject: RE: Irish band wanted - Brentwood, Essex From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 28 Dec 15 - 12:48 PM Hi Doug - sorry, it's been hectic over the hols. Got your email, will write you tomorrow morning. Funnily enough, I just got a Christmas email from the person whose name I'd like to give you (haven't answered that one either). They'd be great for what you're looking for, judging from what you describe, because they fall into both the "folkie" and "Irish/Scottish-trad" camps. Talk soon... |
