Just realised this morning that there is a distinct similarity between "These are my Mountains" a relatively recent schmaltzy Scottish song and the older American song "On Top of Smokey".
In fact, it's practically the same tune!
Both songs have been discussed here before but I'm not sure if any one else has mentioned this. Do we know that if there was a conscious and acknowledged effort on the author's part to base "These are my mountains" on the older song or was it just "plagiarism" deliberate or otherwise?
