I woke up this morning with part of a song I haven't heard in decades in my head, and no idea of the author. Below is what I can remember of two verses and the chorus. Can anyone fill in the gaps?

Jacob B., can you think of any details? Where were you, about when, was it on a radio station or LP etc., Male or female singer, group, orchestrated or other instrumentation...any small details will help Mudcat's song searchers to help you.

Male singer, 30 or 40 years ago, played on one or more of the folk radio stations in Boston (Massachusetts) at that time. (I'm showing my age.) Tenor voice. I don't recall if the recording was just the singer with guitar, or if there was some other instrumentation with him.
