Subject: Dance of the Demon Daffodils From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 30 May 16 - 09:23 AM Here's a video with music that I will be playing at our country dance on June 4th. I think you'll enjoy it. dance When I first saw the music, I thought, "What is this mess?" Then, as usual, I found it on the Internet, heard it being played by good musicians, and decided it makes sense after all. Have a listen. It's a good tune, and I love watching the accordionist. How I wish I could play like that! And she's so beautiful, too. |

Subject: RE: Dance of the Demon Daffodils From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 31 May 16 - 11:05 AM Not that I've heard. A lot of contemporary dance tunes have precious titles. It gets tiresome after a while. |
Subject: RE: Dance of the Demon Daffodils From: Will Fly Date: 31 May 16 - 11:12 AM John K told me that, when he wrote it, he wanted to compose something off-beat in the spirit of the long-lost novelty tunes of the 1920s and 1930s. It's not a dance tune as such - i.e. not written for dancing - just a little but of catchy fun. |
