Subject: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 13 Jul 16 - 01:12 PM Well, yesterday "chuck" wouldn't let me log in. So i said so. The thread where I said so is closed now. So, "chuck," I apologize for remarking about what "chuck" rhymes with. hee hee hee. Today Mudcat let me log in courtesy of "etta." Thanks, "etta." |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: punkfolkrocker Date: 13 Jul 16 - 01:19 PM I quite relish the prospect of being allowed easy access into somewhere "furry".... [well I did come of age in the 1970s...] 😜 |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: robomatic Date: 13 Jul 16 - 02:27 PM Are you sure you don't mean 'Farley' As in Charles Ulmer Farley? ;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: punkfolkrocker Date: 13 Jul 16 - 02:33 PM nah.. definitely a furry mudcat... .. that joins the ranks of the Big Muff Pi fuzz box, for amusing aging immature guitar players... 😎 |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 13 Jul 16 - 06:30 PM Ah, chuck, it's you who comes up when I first load the Mudcat Cafe website, but once I actually log in, it's 'etta' . Darned if I know what's going on. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: Jeri Date: 13 Jul 16 - 07:03 PM Mudcat's servers share the load, so you end up whichever one you get shuttled to. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 13 Jul 16 - 09:50 PM I've notice a few new server names |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: Stilly River Sage Date: 13 Jul 16 - 11:20 PM Punkfolkrocker - didn't you know? "Furry" is out, and trimmed is in. But you just want in, right? (Winces and leaves) |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: gnu Date: 14 Jul 16 - 11:23 AM Just now, I am being served by brownie. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 14 Jul 16 - 02:12 PM Fisher cats, anybody? They eviscerate porcupines like nobody's business. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: punkfolkrocker Date: 14 Jul 16 - 02:23 PM Fingers crossed for a server named "Beaver"... errrmm.. well... it's an aquatic creature... errrr... like a mudcat.... honestly.... 😇 |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 14 Jul 16 - 02:31 PM Justin Bieber maybe? |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 14 Jul 16 - 03:23 PM ...but when I came of age, kind of, it was the "banana fana fo ****" line from "The Name Game." Look out for 'chuck' and 'mitch'. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: DaveRo Date: 14 Jul 16 - 03:27 PM punkfolkrocker wrote: Fingers crossed for a server named "Beaver"...A is dead. We already have a B, a C and an E. Bluesmen or women starting with D? |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 15 Jul 16 - 12:57 PM I remember 'awe,' Dave. You mean, there is no more 'awe'?? If my brain were not half numb, I could think of a pun for that. So, to the letter D: singer Della Reese songwriter Thomas A Dorsey, "Precious Lord Take My Hand" songwriter Willie Dixon |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: DaveRo Date: 15 Jul 16 - 01:22 PM There seem to be four servers now: brownie, chuck, etta, and furry. The first three seem to be similar but furry is different - it uses more up-to-date software. When I checked this afternoon it was much quicker. How the servers are allocated to users, and how the databases are organised, I've no idea. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 15 Jul 16 - 01:32 PM Hey, punkfolkrocker, would you look at THAT. They took your suggestion and named it 'furry', for which you shall go down in Mudcat history. Of course, 'chuck' is in charge on my screen monitor at the moment. Hi, chuck, keep up the good work. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: DaveRo Date: 15 Jul 16 - 02:41 PM It WAS PFR's post - and Joni Mitchell - that told me the server name. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: punkfolkrocker Date: 15 Jul 16 - 05:30 PM wasn't my suggestion... it's reality.. in this mudcat universe we have a server named 'Furry".. Max has a whole alphabet of rude named blusers to choose from... Blind panty sniffing Bob Lemonsqueezer... [made that on up]... |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: Nigel Parsons Date: 16 Jul 16 - 06:00 AM May I add my apologies to "Chuck"? Every time he runs to kick that football I snatch it away. Love Lucy. p.s. The doctor is in. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 16 Jul 16 - 04:26 PM "Etta" loaded the site to the computer, and "chuck" logged me in. Whatever. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 16 Jul 16 - 06:22 PM ...and then "etta" appeared after sending a post, and "brownie" after sending another... |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 16 Jul 16 - 06:35 PM ....hail and well met, 'furry.' |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 16 Jul 16 - 07:07 PM ...and goodnight, 'brownie.' |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 24 Jul 16 - 07:09 PM Well, 'chuck' logged me in, then 'sonny' took over, and now I'm logging out with 'huddy.' Stuff surprises me. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: Joe Offer Date: 24 Jul 16 - 10:31 PM I really like Max's recent choices of server names. For the most part, they're a lesson in Da Blues. I'm thinking "Chuck" is Chuck Berry, "Sonny" is Sonny Terry, "Furry" is bluesman Furry Lewis (had to Google that one); and Huddy is, well, Lead Belly. And Etta, of course, is the one and only Etta James. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 13 Aug 16 - 03:38 PM Let's see if this is everybody: "A is dead" says DaveRo. B is Brownie McGhee, C is Chuck Berry, E is Etta James, F is Furry Lewis, H is Huddie Leadbetter, S is Sonny Terry. We still don't have a D or a G. What about Dinah Washington -- who died too young, but made a great many recordings, and near the end she paid tribute to Billie Holiday and "Strange Fruit" by singing This Bitter Earth, what a fruit it bears....as much gospel as blues I guess. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 22 Sep 16 - 02:24 PM Chuck, oh, Chuck, what ARE you about today! When I go to the Mudcat site, which says you are on the front lines at the moment, I get this list of forum threads which is far greater than the past 24 hours, looks more like the past several days! What brought that on? |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: DaveRo Date: 22 Sep 16 - 02:37 PM Chuck has regressed - to 22nd July, according to the date at the bottom. Oh, and awe seems to be coming back to life! |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 22 Sep 16 - 02:43 PM Really? Still says 'chuck,' don't see 'awe'. Yes, it's something like one calendar month's worth of active threads. But for why? |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 22 Sep 16 - 02:51 PM Okay, now we are back to threads active in the past 24 hours. And 'sonny' has replaced 'chuck.' Darned if I understand a thing. |
Subject: RE: BS: my apologies to 'chuck' From: keberoxu Date: 22 Sep 16 - 05:25 PM Chuck is back and we are one day at a time. That was weird. |
