Subject: BS: Women are better suited for, From: Donuel Date: 29 Jul 16 - 03:20 PM Space travel! At last their vision remain intact while men suffer a marked lack of acuity from several factors like retina folding , eye fluid pressure redistribution and intracranial pressure rise. From my POV space travel is irresponsible and unnecessarily hazardous until we develop shielding by electromagnetic innovation and centrifugal artificial gravity. The bone loss on weight bearing bones like the upper femur is dangerous. ......................... Survival of species and long term DNA coding. Music? |

Subject: RE: BS: Women are better suited for, From: Donuel Date: 29 Jul 16 - 08:41 PM The Earth may have not been visited if a woman had not insisted they stop and ask for directions, as ancient astronauts believe and if so deviled eggs would not exist. If so it would be so so according to Alien theorists |
Subject: RE: BS: Women are better suited for, From: Gurney Date: 29 Jul 16 - 08:47 PM Kenny, I think it may be their observational skills. They generally ask me which planet I'm FROM. An island off the west coast of northern Europe, actually, but when I say so, they look unbelieving. |
Subject: RE: BS: Women are better suited for, From: Rumncoke Date: 30 Jul 16 - 05:50 AM All that men are from mars stuff is clearly wrong. Men came on some sort of coach trip from a place far far away, got hammered on some local brew, missed their ride home and have been here ever since making the place untidy. It's the only logical explanation, they being neither use nor ornament in this alien environment. |

Subject: RE: BS: Women are better suited for, From: Little Hawk Date: 30 Jul 16 - 01:58 PM Donuel.... Janet Louise Yellen (born August 13, 1946) is an American economist. She is the Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, previously serving as Vice Chair from 2010 to 2014. Previously, she was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco; Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers under President Bill Clinton; and business professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. In reference to the thread title...I think women are better suited for a great many roles in society, and I think we'd be better off if they were running this society, frankly. On the other hand, there are *some specific* women I definitely never want in charge of a government. One was Margaret Thatcher. Another is....but, no, I'll just let you guess. |

Subject: RE: BS: Women are better suited for, From: Senoufou Date: 31 Jul 16 - 03:57 AM This has got me thinking. Are the perceived 'differences' between men's and women's strengths and weaknesses merely a result of cultural influences? If both sexes were brought up exactly alike and had identical expectations and opportunities before them, would they perform equally well? It's hard to decide, as the status quo has been around for millennia, while the move towards equality is a relatively new concept. I have a suspicion that both sexes have fairly similar levels of competence but have been hindered by social expectations. I can remember when men would never have had much to do with the daily care of young children, or cooked anything at all. And women just did not go out to work, or take on much responsibility outside the home. The result was 'learned incompetence' which (I'm glad to say) is on the wane, at least in the West. |
