I have one clue left in the January 2017 issue's Mojo crossword. it's proving resistant to Google, so I'm turning to Mudcat for help.

The clue reads: "Cliff, UK folkie prominent on the '60s scene (7)". From the answers around it (which I'm confident are correct), I know the answer runs A-blank-N-blank-I-blank-R.

Any ideas?

Could this be him?   https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=12&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjeo8CalrXQAhWMAsAKHe4xCic4ChAWCCAwAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.croydonguardian.co.uk%2Fnews%2F475676.blues_ambassador_clifford_william_aungier_1941_2004%2F&usg=AFQjCNEulvxu2cMssWwGHQkPuQEEf5F7Cg

sorry can't do the "clicky" thing.

I'm sure it must be, Effsee - thanks very much. If I win the prize (a bunch of Beatles Abbey Road stuff), I'll make you sure you get a taste.

In another notable clue from this particular Mojo crossword, we're asked to provide the Christian name of "Folk singer (and MBE) McCarthy". Five letters, starting with an E and ending in A. I know who the clue-setter's got in mind, but can you spot his not-so-deliberate mistake?

It it's who I'd normally suggest, there are three pretty severe mistakes, which seems to indicate it's probably not who I'd normally suggest.

Sounds like our Eliza, but somebody's added a "Mc" in error.
