I must admit that I loved "Where Do You Go to Lovely" ( many didn't! )

We (Shanty Crew) shared a billing with him years back.

Sorry to hear that: my friends and I did probably the worst ever version (if high on hilarity) of that song at Girvan Traditional Music Festival in 2013 in the Folk Band Competition (which is NOT supposed to be serious!) So I will not post the link but simply say sorry: find it if you must!

ad to hear this and condolences to all his family and friends.

I like the song too but a friend of mine has ruined it for me by conflating two of the lines

"I know you still bear the scars
on your back and on your legs"

I never liked that particular song, but sad to hear that he's died, and from such an unpleasant disorder to boot.

Wasn't he the brother of pop singer Eden Kane ??

He was indeed, Rog. There were 3 Sarstedt brothers - Robin, Peter and Richard - all involved in music. Eden Kane was Richard - showbiz name dreamed up by the manager, as was quite usual for those days. He has a website and is still performing, mainly in "nostalgia" tours.

Thanks Felipa.

It also killed a couple of people I'd heard of - Abdus Salam and Dudley Moore.

I wonder what kind of person puts together Wikipedia's "people who died of..." pages?

I've never been to fond of that song either..

But I do genuinely enjoy his sweet summery feel good "Frozen Orange Juice "... 😎

We saw him about 10 years ago.. he was support act for possibly Lindisfarne..???

Looks like a Levin guitar on the video - they were beautiful instruments. Called 'Goya' in the U.S. Poor man's Martin?
