Subject: RE: Peter Sarstedt RIP From: Tattie Bogle Date: 08 Jan 17 - 04:27 PM Sorry to hear that: my friends and I did probably the worst ever version (if high on hilarity) of that song at Girvan Traditional Music Festival in 2013 in the Folk Band Competition (which is NOT supposed to be serious!) So I will not post the link but simply say sorry: find it if you must! |

Subject: RE: Obit: Peter Sarstedt RIP (1941-2017) From: Dave the Gnome Date: 09 Jan 17 - 06:41 AM ad to hear this and condolences to all his family and friends. I like the song too but a friend of mine has ruined it for me by conflating two of the lines "I know you still bear the scars on your back and on your legs" DtG |
Subject: RE: Obit: Peter Sarstedt RIP (1941-2017) From: Will Fly Date: 09 Jan 17 - 06:52 AM I never liked that particular song, but sad to hear that he's died, and from such an unpleasant disorder to boot. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Peter Sarstedt RIP (1941-2017) From: bubblyrat Date: 09 Jan 17 - 12:09 PM Wasn't he the brother of pop singer Eden Kane ?? |
Subject: RE: Obit: Peter Sarstedt RIP (1941-2017) From: Will Fly Date: 09 Jan 17 - 12:15 PM He was indeed, Rog. There were 3 Sarstedt brothers - Robin, Peter and Richard - all involved in music. Eden Kane was Richard - showbiz name dreamed up by the manager, as was quite usual for those days. He has a website and is still performing, mainly in "nostalgia" tours. |
