Subject: Lyr Add: The Little House (Berger/Klonaris) From: Joe Offer Date: 09 Jan 17 - 02:53 AM I came across this in The Collected Reprints from Sing Out! (Vol 1-6) [the pink one], page 235. It was a newly-written song, performed by the Babysitters on their Vanguard album. I recall Lee Hays singing lead in his booming voice. Who were Josef Berger and Nick Klonaris? THE LITTLE HOUSE (Josef Berger and Nick Klonaris) Theirs is a little house, theirs is, In a pear tree full of pearses; They're birds, you see, and they live in a tree Where they don't need ladders of stairses. They're happy and free of careses, They never have to run from bearses; And pears are free to birds, you see, 'Round the world or any other whereses. Theirs is a little house, theirs is, With little bird beds and chairses; Did you ever hear of any house near As nice a little house is theirs is? |

We lived in Shirley, Long Island duing the 60's and early 70's. This was where Nick wrote a children's songbook with Berger. |
