My favourite of the Lumineers takes is the following. Good song, great approach to the rhythm. The only thing about it I don't care for is the ending, although that seems to have been an artistic choice because maybe the writer never did get it all resolved in his own head. (Calling it folk is a bit rad, but maybe fifty years from now it'll be Americana.) That aside, it does deliver a message. The remarks by many people on the YouTube comments section affirm that it cuts deep, it's not uncommon and it resonates with lots of people. Twenty million views does tend to give one that impression ;-)
