If there's anything happening on Sunday or Monday night, yes, that's fine.

Jack - the last bus from Chapel to Buxton leaves at 13 minutes past midnight unless you want to go on Sunday in which case its half an hour earlier - is that late enough for you?

I'll be down the road in Chinley at the end of February so good to be reminded of this.

Thanks,
Harry

Two relevant threads here:

Buxton

North Derbyshire"

I will be back in Buxton Sun/Mon 12-13 March, so I'm interested too. (No car, and I doubt there's any way to get back to Buxton from C-e-l-F late at night by public transport).

Ooh, Chapel en le Frith, Chapel en le Frith, Chapel en le Frith.
I love saying that. Sounds so exotic. I can see the palm trees...

This is The Session page for Chapel

Best folky website for round there might be
http://www.pyramidfolk.co.uk/index2.htm but I think Chapel is SK23

You might find some links on this map but it is mainly for north Staffordshire www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?&mid=1rYM8KCgNpRZWIBHWB0fQQtshLzs   instrumentals would be blue or green pins

Thank you Ray; and, thank you Rachel.

I might be there permanently from late March - still undecided about the move but a warm welcome for me and my fiddle is a box that definitely needs to be ticked.

Hello Marc,

There is a tune session at Glossop labour club every Friday night from 9pm where a novice fiddle player would be made very welcome. I'm usually there with my concertina.

Also Old Vic Stockport 2nd and 4th Wednesdays

You might also be interested in the Beech Band - they play from tune books so good for beginners who don't have a million tunes in their heads yet. http://www.folkatthebeech.org/

I'n not aware that there are any in Chapel itself but you'll find several within driving distance in either Buxton or the Hope Valley.

When will you be there?

Hi there,

Can any Mudcatter direct me in the direction of regular sessions, singarounds, or general folk gatherings in or near Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire, please?

Especially any that might welcome a novice fiddler!

Cheers
Marc
