I wasn't sure how to word this, but I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of some young musicians creating music that sounds like its from the 70's folk revival?

As an example I would point out Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith.

The stuff they come up with sounds awesome, definitely better than the high pitched girly singing of a lot of so-called "modern folk"

Basically I'm looking for young traddy guys that havent lost the folk sound.

Any help is appreciated, cheers.

My current favorite is Emily Smith of Scotland. I wouldn't say she sounds like the 1970s - she's timeless. Here are some samples:

The Press Gang out of Portland, Maine. I've known Junior (Chris) Stevens since he played the buttons of his concertina at the Press Room Fri nite session when he was 14 years old. He's only gotten better. The flute player/vocalist is new, and I think he's a great addition.

If we talking the US, then Frank Fairfield and also Blind Boy Paxton (Jerron Paxton). Though 1930s is probably the closer decade in spirit!

Try the group Galley Beggar. First album Reformation House (2010) second just called Galley Beggar (undated but 2012 ?), third called Silence and Tears (2015). Seem to me to hit just about the right spot. Some clips on YouTube.
