Any ideas on age and value would be welcome. I have acquired one in need of some work and wonder if it is worth the cost. Bridge unstuck.

On ebay right now the first one listed is £199.99 buy it now and the second is £55 buy it now.

Both in serviceable condition. With an unstuck bridge I'd not offer £50. Fender are not among the worlds top acoustic guitar makers. I don't rate them in the same class as Martin or Gibson or any of the other revered makes.

Glueing on a bridge need not be an expensive procedure. Get a quote and if you think it worth it get it done. As a prospect for resale I would put my money elsewhere.

I would have thought that if it is only the bridge , that would be a relatively minor job for a decent luthier

I'm not too keen on Fender acoustic guitars myself.
For the same money, you could get a 2nd hand Yamaha F310.
A better choice in my experience.

Fender acoustics might be mediocre..
but the ones with the Strat headstock did look so cool when I was a lot younger...

Sorry to disagree, but I really rate Fender acoustics. the factory set up generally needs a bit of tweaking by a decent luthier. But , I think they're great. I just bought a beautiful one for a pupil, i paid ninety quid second hand. It plays like a dream.

If its falling apart - unless you are one of those people who likes dicking around in a workshop more than actual playing. I'd say leave well alone. new is cheap enough, and second hand in perfect condition is an absolute bargain.
