Very impressive, but not actually working the ropes.

Now, any Norskephones know where they are bound? It sounds more a Norwegion location than anything in Australasia.

It sounds to me like "bound for coastal Norway".

I think you can identify a pattern "dah dah dee dee dah dah dah dah", which would fit "we're bound for the coast of Norway" best, rather than "... coastal Norway" (which is also less normal English .. e.g. the song is "the coast of Peru", not "coastal Peru!".

the latter link they are pretty clear on "South Australia"

However maybe this video is on the same day as my OP and they are definitely bound for "Norway" and it sounds like "South" or "Coast of" depending on chorus.

However I asked Chas Clark, who lived in Sweden for years and commented on my Norwegian page for me. He says "coast of Norway" sung in English.

Regarding the link I posted, I thought that since the crew had already arrived in Norway, South Australia could be their next destination.

I also liked the part of the video that showed the chantey singer used a mic. In another video, he uses a megaphone. And I like the tune used for Santy-Anno, which is a variant of the one I usually hear.

That's Staadsrad Lehmkuhl - my barky! I sailed aboard from the Cyde to Shetland via Skye and Orkney, many years ago. Her home port is Bergen - so "the coast of Norway" makes sense.
