I have been given a sound file of (presumably) an album of Breton music entitled 'Noce Bretonne a Plouray Mouez Breis Brittany'
I can find no trace of it whatever
Does it exist as an album - any information would be very much appreciated

The album was called "Noce bretonne à Plouray" and that is all I can find so far.

Many thanks Monique
I thinks the notes are too faint to Lightshot down to a printable form, but at least I have the cover so I can file it

Monique
Perhaps I should explain rather than continuing to fire these random requests
I have an extremely large archive of traditional music and song which has been assembled over the last forty odd years
Most of it is indexed, but I am now working on the last few which are basically cassettes that have gone stray from their boxes (about thirty left)
I am gradually piecing together information of what they are from the titles scribbled on the labels and, where possible, adding some explanatory notes
I am extremely grateful for any help I can get - you have been a gem so far
If you, or anybody is interested in this collection of British and international music you are wlcome to copies of what I have - just let me know your field of interest

I can't pin it down for you I am afraid, but Mouez Breiz (Voice of Brittany) was a record label operating out of Quimper in Brittany from 1952 to the 70s. Presumably this is a sound file of a record of theirs, though I can't find it in their discography. 'Noce Bretonne' means 'Breton wedding' of course, and Plouray is a commune in the south of Brittany, just on the boundary between the departments of Cotes d'Armor and Morbihan. Lots of traditional music and singing round there, including the famous kan ha diskan - mouth music for dancing. Manu Kerjean was born nearby and lived in Plouray, and the Goadec sisters are from up the road.

Thanks Jamie
If I can't find anything else, there's enough information there for me to put a brief note in the index
Perhaps I might ask a kindly forum Fairy to change the title of this thread to Unidentified albums Help
Thanks to all - and my offer to Monique applies to all
Jim Carroll
