As there was uncertainty and Saturday was fine I went walkies. (Swainby and Scugdale)
I used to like the singing in the Victoria in the old days very much and could have made that if I'd known; didn't go out at night.

Too late for you now but...
On FB someone asked about singing on Saturday
the reply was
"I heard that singing is on in The Vic in Hallgarth Tce tonight.
· Yesterday [i.e. Saturday]at 17:54"

They may have been like me Ian- making other arrangements because of the mix-up with the dates.

We sat in the Dun Cow for a while, waiting for singers. No-one came, no-one so we wandered away again disappointedly.

I ran the Folk Party for years and 2016 turned out to be the last one,
All I can tell is about the singing in the Dun Cow, if you look at earlier postings, you will find Burt Hunter's telephone number, he is the one organizing the dancing and the ceilidh

As I am a person with small brain and the past organizer of the Durham Folk Party, there will be singing in the Dun Cow on Saturday 30th July. This is all I know about other than dance teams will be in the Market Place on Saturday. Any thing happening in the evening or on the Sunday is in the lap of the Gods who may smile on the weekend.

I'm wondering about the Saturday night singing, Dun Cow? or Amateur (or other) Rowing Club?

Durham Folk Party was finished through the Rowing Club cancelling our use of their campsite. As there were no other campsites available this had to be accepted. Until the estimable Burt Hunter created the Durham Folk Day. So this Saturday there will be dance teams in the Market Place, singing in the Dun Cow and no raffles.
