Yeah Joe, I figured it was something to do with skimming. Works now.

They didn't switch parts, the tunes are different, and who's on top changes.

Thanks for picking up on that, Jeri. I saw the "Falling Slowly" lyrics from Once in the other thread, and so I assumed that other thread was about the same song. Since those lyrics are seriously incorrect and because I think we should have lyrics for the song posted, I'll put them here. -Joe Offer-

and please note this is not about the Coope, Boyes, and Simpson song of the same name, and is not a lyrics request.
It's a question about the harmonies.

So they just switched parts? (I'll have to listen to it again.)

So basically in the verses She is singing the harmonies (up a perfect 3rd)

And in the chorus He is singing the harmonies (up a perfect 3rd)

Which is a beautiful structure. Used many times throughout music history.

But, alas, all these insights appear to be pearls cast before ear bud millenials.

You know how it is. It's easy to become obsessed with a song. So thanks for listening. This week's obsession is the Academy Award Winning song "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová from the hit movie "Once" (2007).

In the verses she is singing up a third from him, and in the chorus she is singing down a third, right?

It's driving me batty trying to figure it out. You know how it is. Thanks again for listening to my current obsession.
