Over on Facebook there are people asking if there are any slow sessions
A) in Whitby
B) in the Hull area
C) if anyone would be interested in one if it started.

Now I know there are plenty at Whitby in Folk week, and that Nellies (when it was at Nellies) had a slow tunes half hour.
But has anyone got more up to date information.

Maybe Yorkshire is too big. Could someone please change the title to 'near Hull & Whitby' please

I go to one in Durham but that's outside your requested area. I'll sign up to the facebook group sometime and post it there.

While I was at Whitby FF I spoke to Annie from Beverley. She says that Nellies (or whatever/where-ever it is now) doesn't have a slow tunes half hour any more. But I knew I was 16 yrs out of date.

Hi Mo, just seen this thread. There is a slow session at The Tiger Inn in Beverley every Tuesday evening, run by Jake and mostly from written manuscripts [Jake usually has plenty of spare copies],all welcome. The White Horse [Nellies] Folk Club has had a few homes since being turfed out of Nellies thanks to Sam Smith but we have been at The Beverley Conservative Club for the last two years, see folk club web site for details.
Bill

Hi Bill. Yes I hear about the club when I meet familiar faces at Whitby.
Nellies slow tunes half hour was the reason we went back to Whitby, had gone to a dance festival in the 80s, then saw on Mudcat 10 yrs or so ago, that there were slow sessions, so reckoned it was time to return.
