God has lost interest in humanity, why should he try to guide when we keep rejecting his message?

I cannot define "GOD", but we are obviously on the road to self destruction and have been so for a very long time. I admire the Christian doctrine, but some here find it too authoritarian and are bent on its abolition along with all recognised rules on human behavior.....these people are the enemy, not Donal-John.

Raggytash, If Maryanne's grandfather was called DONALD on his UK Birth Certificate.....I can assure you that thoughout his life he would be referred to as "Donal" in Lewis.
In the 1800s, the Isle of Lewis would be almost 100% Gaelic speaking.
Even on the mainland where I live Gaelic was spoken commonly in the mid 1900s.

I live in a Gaelic speaking area, one man I know who is actually named Donal but is called Dougal by everyone.

However Donald John Trump is neither living in my gaelic speaking area or on Lewis in the 19th century. He was born and raised in America, and in America he was named Donald John. His parents choice.

If they had wanted him to be known as Sam or Fred they would have named him accordingly, they didn't, they wanted him to be known as Donald John.

I wonder how Trump got the name "The Donald." Was that Ivana's doing? She had an interesting sense of irony. I always had the impression that she hated her husband - and had good reason to.
At the time they were married, she made certain that she was more famous than he was. He must have hated that.

Here, the major landowners were always known as "The Laird"(sometimes satirically) The Crofter thought "The Donald" would suffice.

And Trump is not from Scotland. His mother emigrated from there in 1930. She married afterwards, and had kids, the fourth being Donald. The only person, AFAIK, to call him "DemiJohn" is Ake, who probably finds it too icky to say the man's real name.

An old man is caught in flood and is up to his waist in water, the fire brigade arrives to rescue him and he rebuffs the by saying " God will save me, ill put my trust in the Lord"
He is now up to his chest an the navy arrives in a dingy, again he rebuffs them repeating his previous reason.
Time passes and the water is just about up to his chin and a Air -sea rescue helicopter arrives. Again he rebuffs them with his original reason .
Alas, sadly the old man drowns and goes to heaven and god meets him at the door and he rebukes god saying "I put my trust in you and you let me down" God smiles and says "no I didnt I sent the fire brigade ..... the navy AND the air sea rescue"
