Subject: Ingleton Folk Weekend From: JHW Date: 05 Sep 17 - 05:03 AM I've been to this a dozen times maybe - homespun easy going event but checking out 2017 dates found. The Ingleton Folk Weekend 2017 was to have been Friday 29th September to Sunday 1st October but regrettably the committee has decided to cancel this year's event and is not planning to continue it going forward. An increasing number of similar festivals nearby has made it more difficult to generate enthusiasm locally. This is a shame. Nice place. Nice walking area. Some of the pubs still have put on events this year. Website is www.ingletonfolk.co.uk (but came up 404 not found using blue clicky generator) |

Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk Weekend From: Mr Red Date: 06 Sep 17 - 03:01 AM Ingleton, North Yorks just in case anyone was wondering. |
Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk Weekend From: Stanron Date: 06 Sep 17 - 04:07 AM Thank you Mr Red. I'd seen them both and assumed it was the other one. If there are likely to be tune sessions I'd be interested. Can one park a humble Campervan? |
Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk Weekend From: FreddyHeadey Date: 06 Sep 17 - 08:29 AM Hmmm ... I don't think I knew about an Ingleton in County Durham , thanks. That one feels(to me...) like it should be in Yorkshire and the one in Yorkshire feels like it should be Lancashire. (I've probably had to check previously too. Big place, funny shape is North Yorkishire) fwiw Here is a map of the border (open in browser not 'maps'). https://www.google.com/maps/place/North+Yorkshire,+UK/@54.15251,-2.47024,11z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x4878c340e19865f1:0xc3e02219c8959fb7!8m2!3d53.9915028!4d-1.5412015 |
Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk Weekend From: Dave the Gnome Date: 06 Sep 17 - 08:51 AM It is Lancashire/Yorkshire, Freddy and the postal address is still Carnforth as far as I know. Stanron - Dunno about parking for a campervan but Holme Head Caravans are, or used to be, peanuts to rent. Very basic, not connected to mains water or waste, but do have power and heating. Toilet block used to leave a lot to be desired but for a weekend it was fine. I am going to be in France or I would be there! Cheers DtG |
Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk Weekend From: Dave the Gnome Date: 06 Sep 17 - 08:53 AM Oh - Just seen on the web site that they have spaces for tourers and motor homes but to be honest if you are taking your own you may find a site with better facilities nearby. D. |
