Can anyone help identify any songs that are about or mention Ballinasloe, Co. Galway

I know Brendan Shine sang a song called 'Ballinasloe Fair"

And the song 'The Tinkerman's Daughter' also mentions Ballinasloe Fair.

Any other suggestions will be most welcome.

thanks in advance
W

It is the habitation of the sailor in the song "A sailior coorted a farmers daughter" - I think by Dominic Behan.

Nancy Myles sung by Johnny McEvoy and Foster & Allen.

In Ballinasloe on horse fair day, when tinker men would have their say
Many a fight was fought to win the hand of Nancy Myles.

Yes - Nancy Miles is a powerful, dark song. I seem to remember an English group recording a great, a capella version of it ...? I've rarely heard it sung "in the wild", so to speak.

Regards
