Hi All,

Following on from a fantastic club swap night at The Welly with our good friends of Tynefolk Thursday gone, we welcome Darlington Mummers to come and "Do" Christmas with The Wilson Family, this Thursday, December 14th.

We'll kick off with Christmas Carols around the Wellington Inn, from 7pm and the club proper will start at 8.30pm. A Traditional Mummers Play from one of England's oldest (if not the oldest?) revivalist mumming teams....and some of the soundest gents & ladies that you would ever want to spend an evening singing with.... and festive (and none festive!) Songs a plenty, during which, there will be a set from the Wilson Family and a set from the Mummers, songs from around the room, and a finale with the Wilsons & the Mummers together....what's not to like!

All are Welly Welcome!

For all things WellySings see here:

The Welly Folk Club

The Welly meets every Thursday at:

The Wellington Inn
High Street
Wolviston Village
County Durham
TS22 5JY

Cheers,

Mike

Darlington Mummers unbelievably ARE indeed the oldest revivalist Mummers team in the country.
Tony Foxworthy founded the Darlington Mummers mid 1965.
The first performances were at Christmas 1965.
