I added in an Oz Folkie's passing to an inappropriate thread, kinda "on the spur of the moment", coz it was also a Xmas Day passing :

Just been told that Darwin Folk & Blues stalwart, Chris Pemberton, passed at 8am Xmas morning.
Though I only met him the once, I know many in the Northern Territory Family of Folkies (some of whom are Mudcatters), were well acquainted and will surely miss him :)

Chris was a good man and a fine performer. He was a long-time president of
the Top End Folk Club in Darwin and an excellent guitarist whose renditions of
Mississippi John Hurt blues were particularly delightful. He will be sorely missed.

Sad news indeed. Pembo was a gentleman of the first order, as well as being an excellent musician, and our deep condolences go to Chris's wife Pam, his family and many, many friends.

Hi this is Chris’ granddaughter if anyone has any recordings of him singing I would love to have them as I miss him dearly.
