Subject: RE: Warwick Festival 'clubs' / singarounds? From: Mr Red Date: 10 Jan 18 - 10:54 AM sessions always in the Roebuck during the day, and I suspect at night too, I'm usually in the ceilidh, this year I doubt I will be there. Maybe sessions in Crompton St, Old Four Penny Shop pub 01926 491360, maybe on Thursday night too. Last time I checked it was iffy. The Bowling Green have had sessions in the garden in recent years. I have been to sessions in the Zetland Arms Church Street, but often stewarding duties has precluded getting there at the right time often. On site There is a session on site, might be on the balcony of the swimming pool complex. There is usually a SAR next to the workshop area, I don't know what they call it these days but it is a sizeable hall. They are apparently building a girls section so no marquee, the concerts will be in Guy Nelson Hall and ceilidhs - probably in the sports hall. There are things in some restaurants, one is Catalan, but AKAIK these are paid musicians. The market square has a trailer stage and I would prescribe ear plugs at 100 yards. The Saturday market is interesting if you are in town at the time, you may find something in one of the pubs there. And the road down to the Roebuck (Smith St) is wall to wall stalls, mostly crafts and stinky food. |
