Hope

You fall down on the road
feel the cold wind blow
it doesn't matter at all
hope is free
but so hard to find
you can't fill up deep feelings
by running all the time

chorus

Hearts are broken and they mend
but they are never the same again
find yourself a reason to explain it all
but there's no way to break the fall
to break the fall

He chose the road
to fill out all his dreams
the choice it was so black and white
when he was young and green
she chose to stay
to let him walk away
she often thinks
just how it would be.

chorus

So pack up your regrets
do what you must do
time really does run out
when you least expect it to
don't believe that you won't see
the day when you look back
heartache takes your breath away
by looking at the past

And the rain falls
falls down on the road
feel the cold wind blow
feel the cold wind blow
feel the cold wind blow

Hello folks!

A listener forwarded a beautiful song to us which seems to be titled, "Hope." Well-recorded and masterfully sung--but we can't figure out who this is! The listener heart recorded it from public radio broadcast in 1986 (I'm working to find out which station).

If any music sleuths are intrigued (and would like to enjoy this singer's gorgeous voice), here's a partial mp3:

It sounds a little bit like Chris Stuart (of Chris Stuart & Backcountry) to me...I'm continuing to dig.

Many thanks in advance for your thoughts!

All the best,

Sheila Shigley
