Subject: Tech: Why is the 'Female singers' thread close From: GUEST,akenaton Date: 20 Jan 18 - 04:06 AM I'm puzzled as to why the is thread was closed, I posted twice forgetting to put my name.....which is force of habit for me as I never used to have to sign in, but it could be a very interesting thread and I'm sure Johnny J will be as puzzled as me...Ake. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Why is the 'Female singers' thread close From: Johnny J Date: 20 Jan 18 - 04:37 AM Strange. I can't think of any reason. It certainly didn't seem to be getting out of hand, although I hadn't necessarily intended it to become a list of singers either good or bad. My main purpose in starting the thread was that I sense that there is less interest in singing in general among men in traditional and folk circles and I was wondering why? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Why is the 'Female singers' thread close From: GUEST,Observer Date: 20 Jan 18 - 05:00 AM Good question GUEST,akenaton and I agree with your comment above Johnny J. I was actually in the middle of doing a bit of research from personal experience on the interesting topic you raised. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Why is the 'Female singers' thread close From: GUEST Date: 20 Jan 18 - 07:38 AM Yes GUEST observer, it could be a very interesting subject, is it to do with a change in society away from traditional subjects, like the travelling life, or work ethics? Does the female interpretation suit the "new society" better......... |

Subject: RE: Tech: Why is the 'Female singers' thread close From: Doug Chadwick Date: 20 Jan 18 - 08:32 AM Does the closed thread still exist? If so, can you provide a link. I don't seem to find a recently closed thread when I put "Female" into the search box and set it back a couple of weeks. DC |

Subject: RE: Tech: Why is the 'Female singers' thread close From: Joe Offer Date: 20 Jan 18 - 09:41 AM Hi - I can't figure out why it might have been closed. Could be that I'm the guilty party. The "close thread" link is in an awkward position on a cellphone, and it's very easy to close a thread without realizing. I make a point of insisting that music threads that are closed must have an explanation for the closure. If a music thread is closed without explanation, please contact me. There's a different policy for closing threads in the BS section, and I have nothing to do with that. -Joe Offer- joe@mudcat.org |
Subject: RE: Tech: Why is the 'Female singers' thread close From: Jeri Date: 20 Jan 18 - 09:45 AM Joe, if you read this thread all the way, you'll find it wasn't closed. Akenaton simply couldn't find it because he was looking for "female" instead of "women".
