Subject: RE: Lyr Req: About Time (Hamilton Camp) From: GUEST,moe Date: 12 May 21 - 09:19 PM Camp recorded "Time" when he was part of a group called The Skymonters in the early 70s. The Skymonters also was the name of their only album. The group members lived on a commune in virginia, I believe, and one of the band was Lewis Arquette, father of Rosanna, Patricia, David, etc. Later many of them moved to Chicago and performed as the True Brothers. Camp also began to perform more frequently with Gibson, who also had returned to Chicago. Camp and Arquette found their way back to L.A. and their acting careers took precedence over music |

Subject: Lyr Add: ABOUT TIME (Hamilton Camp) From: Jim Dixon Date: 25 Mar 18 - 06:06 PM Here's my transcription from BobGibsonFolk.com: ABOUT TIME (Hamilton Camp) As recorded by Bob Gibson on "Bob Gibson" (1970) It's nine o'clock, and the timepiece in my pocket ticks the hours away, And I stop, as the wind-chimes in the distance tinkling seem to play All the songs I've ever written sung or heard about are running through my mind. That's the lovely thing about time. Ten fifteen, and I hear the sound of laughter in the still of night, All serene, as a loving couple passes by, it seems so right, But the timepiece in my pocket says the hours of young lovers are soon gone. That's the saddest thing about time. [§] Time's a loom on which we weave The fabric of our destiny, A sacred loom on which we hang our lives. Each one wears a new design, Sew a straight and crooked line, The garment we will wear eternally. Twelve o'clock, the halfway point between the old and brand-new day, And I stop, just to clear my heart and mind of thoughts that I might pray, And give thanks that I was put upon this wheel to learn the sacred sounds of rhythm, tune, and rhyme, But most of all to learn about time. [REPEAT FROM §.] |
Subject: Lyr Req: About Time (Hamilton Camp) From: GUEST Date: 24 Mar 18 - 04:13 AM Do anybody know the lyrics to this beautiful song written by Hamid Camp? It was sung by Bob Gibson in his concerts and albums. Thanks. https://www.bobgibsonfolk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/13-About-Time-bonus-track.mp3 As done by Bob Gibson and The Flying Burrito Brothers. And do anybody know if Camp himself ever recorded the song. |
