Subject: BS: Censorship From: Jim Carroll Date: 08 Jun 18 - 12:51 PM I see my thread on palestine has disappeared before it got started I no longer wish to be part of a forum that censors subjects Just wish to say goodbye to all the friends I have made here Jim Carroll Jim, There's a saying "don't go away mad, just go away." Starting a thread with this title and announcing your departure is going away mad. Mudcat is a music site with a section for off-topic conversations, but when individuals start thread after closed thread on the same topic, it means they're not getting the message. This is a music site, and when the kind of fighting and trolling happens in these BS threads keeps happening, members who have no interest in this topic, who are here for the music, are driven away. Not necessarily because of their participation or reading of these threads, but because of the surly reputation these threads give to the site. Not everyone will agree with me. I think you should still participate and Mudcat and share your musical knowledge and general information on calm BS threads. There are other places on The Internet where you can discuss Palestine. My guess is that those who do so here know that they're in a closed environment and can insult others with little consequence. Do that out on the WWW on Facebook or other sites and you'll be piled upon by those who disagree. But maybe that's what should happen to you. The kind of fighting that many members do here is unseemly and isn't good for Mudcat or its music reputation. So take it out in the street, boys. |
Subject: RE: BS: Censorship From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 10 Jun 18 - 04:08 AM Jim, you chose to start yet another thread on Israel, but with nothing new to say so it would inevitably have gone the way of all the others. You are obsessed. You will not be able to stay away from Mudcat. It is so much more than the BS bit. You will want to continue to share your knowledge of the music and will be unable to resist joining in the BS. |
Subject: RE: BS: Censorship From: Jim Carroll Date: 10 Jun 18 - 05:16 AM A disappeared thread mysteriously reappears and the first contributor wishes to censor what another poster wishes to post about You couldn't make it up I decided to leave thanks to such censorship and will stay away unless and until that censorship ceses Giving the t=right to a mod who apparently doesn't want a current subject regarding the massacre of well over 100 unarmed protesters and the wounding of several thousand others seems to me putting he kiss of death on this section of this wonderful forumm I'd rather attend the funeral than watch its death throes Jim Carroll |
Subject: RE: BS: Censorship From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 10 Jun 18 - 07:54 AM We have already discussed the current border violence. There is nothing new to add except the indiscriminate missile attacks. I was not at all surprised that the thread was removed. What could it achieve but more spite? |
Subject: RE: BS: Censorship From: Stilly River Sage Date: 10 Jun 18 - 11:51 AM So much for re-opening this to try to let people talk Jim into staying. Keith, you are as predictable as ever. |
