A friend of mine maintains there is a little known second verse to the song, it goes;

May you never be sad,
May you always be glad
May this day be the best day
That you've ever had.

It appears to be so little known that a Google search brings up nothing.

Anybody know anything?

Michael - if a web search doesn't bring it up, I'd be inclined to think that's a "local" variation. It wouldn't take a lot of inventive genius for someone to come up with that verse. I suspect the versions Jos referenced have a similar provenance.
(I somehow doubt the squashed tomatoes and stew verse is original either :-)

That was the conclusion I had come to Mark, my'source'claims it wasn't him.
