Subject: Tech: Facebook - Lost Username/Password
From: GUEST,Ed
Date: 21 Aug 18 - 02:50 PM

I don't use Facebook or any Android device, so I don't know where to start here.

My partner uses it a lot and has just received a new 'phone. She's not particularly 'techy' and can't remember the initial email or other verifying details she needs to set it up on said new 'phone.

She still has access via her tablet. Any suggestions on how best to proceed?

Many thanks for any advice,

Ed

Hi, Ed-
Go to Facebook.com, and it will take you to the login page. That page gives you three choices: log in, create new account, or "forgot password" - click that last "forgot password" link, and it should take you through the process.

These days you can sync a lot of your computer browser settings to the Android version in the phone, so if she (for example) uses Chrome on her computer or tablet, and looks into the settings (look for those three dots up in the upper right corner) she can tell it to share settings and such across devices. That will save her some looking up of things. You can also share history if you wish.

In FireFox (PC) find "Options" in a DropDown menu.
Select Privacy & Security
Click Saved Logins
at the top Search for Fakebook
and there will be clues for the e-mail address
Click Show Passwords

and you will see the current password.

Chrome & IE should have similar but I failed to find and I in a rush.
