Hearing of Bill's death made me realise how little I knew about him, though I've known many of his songs for years. Digging around I can across this fine interview by Gentle Folk made around his 70th birthday which includes a few of his best known songs and how they came about. It also features Bill singing Les Barker's parody of John o'Dreams, - Custard Creams.

I remember Bill singing Custard Creams when he was guesting at the Herga Club, and in the middle of it asking "Why am I singing this....?"
