The Sherwood Hotel in Queenstown NZ has a great open mic night in a quaint venue in the hotel complex. It is held on the last Thursday of the month and attracts a high standard of musicians and singers. They particularly want to encourage Original Material to be performed and include the spoken word so poetry and rap may be involved.
We even had a MAGICIAN do a spot
Angie Wright sang a few of her songs to a great audience.
If in NZ be sure to seek it out.

Going to a Queenstown pub called Pog Mahon....on Sunday afternoon for a trade session.

You can take the girl out of Ireland but you cannot take the Irish out the girl. Or something like that.

But a pub called Pog Mahon???

Given how profitable Queenstown's tourism is, I hope they're paying.

Not really relevant, but - is there still a sign in Queenstown bearing the words 'Cemetery Road' to which is added a second sign which reads 'No Exit'. I was laughing all day when I saw this a few years ago.

After Queenstown Angie Wright sang in a few other venues.

Angie sang in Picton a sort of Karaoke night,She accompanied talented Jasper Hawkins in Nelson and did a 5 song spot in Gisborne amongst others.

She even got a couple of tracks from her CD HEROES and DEMONS played on Radio Kidnappers.

Now back in UK and will be supporting Ivan Drever at the Crieff Folk Club on Thursday May 9th .

Don't forget you can get Angie on Spotify.
