Greetings from east Alabama! My friend Judy needs parts for her broken 21 bar ChromaHarp. Please send me any contacts you have along those lines. I think the instrument was made in the 1970's or 1980's. Needed are plastic chord bar guides and a few chords with good felt. I have not yet seen the instrument but hope to repair it for her. Thanks from Steve Sedberry, Newell, AL 36280

The chord bar holder on a vintage late 1960s or 70s 21 bar Chromaharp is made of hard plastic but I do not know which type. I need to glue three fragments of the foot of one of two chord bar holders back onto the main and need to know which type of glue is best. Any ideas?

Plastics are now manufactured with a number between 1 and 7 which indicates of which type of plastic the product is made. Perhaps you have found such a number on a newer autoharp or chromaharp chord bar holder (aka, comb). If so please share that number with me so I have a better idea of which glue to use in repairing a 40+ year old chromaharp. Thank you!

According to Pete Daigle the Chromaharp chord bar holder/comb is made of polystyrene which requires two-part epoxy to glue broken pieces back together.
Instead I was able to buy a new 21 bar chord bar holder via http://www.autoharpstore.com.
