Judging from that obit he was certainly a colorful character and it sounds like he had an interesting life. |

When I eventually staggered back and found my girlfriend and our mates, they told me I'd missed an epic spectacle of rock history in the making... Oh well blame it all on the festival cider...??? |

Ginger Baker always loomed large (in more ways than one) as a colourful character. Yes, the documentary, showed him as an irascible old geezer - from the stories I've read, he was always a bit that way. Interestingly, what I most remember him for is his rendition of "Mother's Lament" on "Disraeli Gears." As a father later in life, I used to sing it to my girls as a bedtime song! Anyway, thanks for all the music, Ginger. RIP |

When asked how he played using two pedal bass drums, he said "Like this man", and launched into a deafening drum solo. Oh how I laughed. |

Of course, with age, he became even worse to live with, so the footage of him in recent years doesn't quite convey the character and the personality of his wicked youthful years. He was old enough, during the second war and the blitz, to sense what was going on, even though he was a very small child. And what I recall is that he was thrilled by the explosions! |

What a night! The band played some pretty weird songs as I remember. One was called 'Lady Godiva's Elephants' The drum battle was epic! |

I saw Blind Faith at the Midwest Rock Festival in July 1969 -- it was held at State Fair Park, West Allis (satellite suburb of Milwaukee), Wisconsin. About a two miles or so from where I was living with my parents. Cream, too, was a major part of the soundtrack of my life in the late Sixties. Linn |

I would be hard pressed to recall anything that Mr Berry did on that night but the set provided by GBO (all 4 now no longer with us) remains as clear as yesterday; including Ginger's drum solo. My introduction to the Blues. |
