Subject: obit- Derek Hall ( Shades, Reading, 1960s ) From: GUEST,Rick Stokes Date: 19 Nov 19 - 06:55 AM Sad to report the recent death of Derek Hall, who some here may recall from playing at the Shades Folk Club, Reading, & Imperial College Folk Club, London, in the 1960s - Derek was a very fine guitarist ( recorded with Mike Cooper, their EP ' Out Of The Shades' can be heard on youtube - Mike Cooper rated him on a par with Davy Graham & John Renbourn, as amongst the best around ), & very inspiring as a singer/guitarist to myself, & others, I'm sure. |
