Subject: Folk Club directory From: Shezinaussie Date: 05 Feb 20 - 03:54 AM There used to be a site that I used years ago, that was divided into days/places that could be used for finding folk clubs. As we will be travelling the length/breadth of England, can anyone give me a link to a good site to use in 2020? Thanks in advance. |
Subject: RE: Folk Club directory From: Vic Smith Date: 05 Feb 20 - 07:09 AM Probably your best bet is Martin Nails on-line guide at www.englishfolkinfo.org.uk/regional.html but like all folk club guides, it is one thing to set it up. It is quite another to keep it up to date so always check the continued existence before setting out to visit a club. |
Subject: RE: Folk Club directory From: FreddyHeadey Date: 05 Feb 20 - 02:11 PM Open these in a browser\tab, not 'maps' Like Vic says, easy to add, less easy to keep up to date but try Folk Club Map https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1plE0C69JOiO8FotbmDlDvE2qxbM&ll=54.4%2C-1.6&z=6 For local listers of what's on you could find links on UK Folk Links map https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1plE0C69JOiO8FotbmDlDvE2qxbM&ll=54.8%2C-1.6&z=6 |

Subject: RE: Folk Club directory From: Mr Red Date: 04 Mar 20 - 02:36 AM Modesty forbids Shez, but the blickie - Mr Red - don't forget to look at the datestamp, it is my way of dealing with how information works in the time domain. |
Subject: RE: Folk Club directory From: FreddyHeadey Date: 09 Mar 20 - 07:02 PM ^^^^^^^ just noticed that though Vic's text is correct the actual link doesn't work try http://www.englishfolkinfo.org.uk/regional.html ~~~~~~~~~ Vic , it needs the 'http://' or Mudcat interprets it as a Mudcat page. Or something like that. |
Subject: RE: Folk Club directory From: FreddyHeadey Date: 16 Mar 20 - 07:10 PM & Chris Rust has recently been updating his Folk Music Map https://folkmusicmap.wordpress.com/ |
Subject: RE: Folk Club directory From: GUEST Date: 20 Apr 23 - 06:18 PM Mapwise at the moment the Folk Club Map might be more up to date than Chris Rust's Folk Music Map. Open this one in a browser rather than 'maps'. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1Tf5UnYW2tZqJO6qcaMDdT3v-4D8JutUK Select\deselect days as required. |
