Subject: Obit: Tommy Hickland From: Phil Cooper Date: 16 Apr 20 - 11:23 PM I read on facebook two days ago that Tommy Hickland, fiddle and keyboard player with Five Hand Reel passed away. Barry Lyons mentioned he had been battling cancer and the Covid-19 virus carried him off. I don't know any other details. I enjoyed the work of Five Hand Reel and had the privilege of seeing them once in concert. May he rest in peace. |

Subject: RE: 2020 Obit: Tommy Hickland (Five Hand Reel) From: Joe G Date: 18 Apr 20 - 05:55 PM Oh what sad news - a truly tremendous band - I saw them in Dunelm House at Durham Folk Festival when I was a teenager and they were one of the bands who accelerated my interest in folk music. Loved their albums - especially the first one |
