Does anyone remember a parody of the Weather Forecaste. The only line I can remember is A deep depression north of Potters Bar. I think it was by the King Singers but not certain

Well, the Kings Singers are featured here,
but uncertain if this is different
than what you expected ...

Weather Forecast -- Kings Singers

I wonder if you're thinking of this one by the Master Singers.

Thanks for the above , but no, it was definitely a parody mentioning various places in the island.

Is this what you are thinking of?
The Shipping Forecast by Les Barker

Les Barker getting closer but not there yet. Someone has suggested Max Bygraves. Does that ring any bells.

The first of the choral ones was by the Dorian Choir from Wellington, around 1970, setting the New Zealand national forecast. The English choirs picked up their idea a few years later.

One episode of the BBC (Light Programme?) series Take it From Here back in the 50s had a sung weather forecast, which I may possibly have on tape.

One bit I remember is:
"Fastnet to Faeroes, the fog's getting black.
You can't see your hand, can't see your hand, behind your back".

but I don't think that's the one you're looking for.

LarryTheRadioGuy
Weather Forecast
! Thanks for that - I've looked for it, off and on, over the last few years but I didn't know the singers & I thought it was called 'The Shipping Forecast'!

[btw Jack - Weather Forecast was 1966]
