Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Trump's Lysol From: Gibb Sahib Date: 30 Apr 20 - 12:39 AM Trump's comments were characteristically stupid, irresponsible, and laughable. He needs to just shut and shouldn't be talking at all. But do people think he actually said something about Lysol or bleach? Do you think he was telling citizens to ingest or inject cleaning products? Thinking that is also laughable. And anyone who decided to do that is stupid. The comment was some goofy ad lib about doctors possibly finding a way to inject something that would act as a "disinfectant." "Disinfectant" doesn't mean "Lysol," it means anything that kills an infection. Part of what makes it sound that so ridiculous is that, in that sense, a drug/medicine can be construed as a "disinfectant." Horrible use of language, though probably in a vain attempt to be colloquial and accessible, and even more likely just Trump's huge ego leading hime to think he needed to be saying something (though he knows nothing). As I always say, there's already plenty to damn Trump without making up lies. People need to actually read / listen to what people say before escalating the distrust on both sides when everyone sounds like a liar. Because if Democrats, who are supposed to be the hope to defeat Trump, are lying, you're again going to have people who love the truth distrusting both major parties and we saw how that turned out 4 years ago. It MATTERS what the President says. And it also matters what the Speaker of the House says, what news reporters say, and what we say. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Trump's Lysol From: Felipa Date: 30 Apr 20 - 08:16 AM Gibb Sahib, I actually did hear a snippet of an interview in which a reporter asked Trump, as bleach is known to kill the virus on surfaces, what about injecting (or did he say ingesting?)bleach and Trump replied that it might be a good idea. And yes, it is possible that the US president was being sarcastic ... I'm not sure he is clever enough, but he does sometimes say or do things just to get noticed - all publicity is good publicity seems to be the motto. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Trump's Lysol From: Felipa Date: 01 May 20 - 04:43 PM found another one on youtube: Lie-lie-lie-lie-lysol by Founder Sing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvGkB4bdryQ The lyrics are given in the notes on the page. Even if Trump was being sarcastic or joking by answering a question in the affirmative, yes bleach might work internally; he was at the least irresponsible: "Truth turns to lies and lies turn to truth And some dumb fool, one who listened to you Will drink Lysol, Lie-lie-lie-lie Lysol" |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Trump's Lysol From: Hrothgar Date: 02 May 20 - 02:57 AM Trump does not have to worry about his supporters doing this. They aren't smart enough to remove a child-proof cap. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Trump's Lysol From: Felipa Date: 05 May 20 - 08:11 AM another treatment which may be effective against viruses including Corona, is Lie-Sol Lie-Sol can help in the prevention and also in early/mildly symptomatic infections and in recovery. Ultraviolet light has antiseptic properties, and lying in the sun can reduce stress and hence help the immune system and general health. Not to be overdone, as sunburn should be avoided - and if prevention is the aim lying about shouldn't be practiced to the extent of interfering with physical exercise. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Trump's Lysol From: Mr Red Date: 07 May 20 - 03:13 AM exposure to the sun induces the production of vitamin D. Which is implicated as statistically helpful in reducing heart attack, according to a researcher. He expounded on TED.com. As a Doctor he collected stats in Scotland, and took a post doc post in Australia and found OZ had better stats. His research took him to UV-B as the active constituent of sunlight. He reckoned taking vitamin D tablets were not much effective in the context, and UV-A similarly. So choose yer sunbed carefully. Wiki on UV-B lamps As to the video of Twitler riffing on injection, digestion disinfectant - I heard those. And did I hear bleach ? Well maybe the suggestion had been planted already so, as anyone would, did I conflate it with disinfectant? There is no doubt in my mind he was implying the use of an existing readily available product. & definitely no doubt in the mind of one of his aides looking at the ground in a highly hidden yet still discernible, don't blame me embarrassed way. The problemo with checking for bleach is that Deep Fakes are with us and Twitler's head was turned, at times, to his two aides as he spoke. Business Insider's transcript which leaves out the words medical vouchers see Youtube, which looks genuine Deep Fakes are the "liars bonus". He says "Fake News" so often, you don't know who is producing the fakes. But the backtrack of sarcasm defines that he said something his aides regret. |
