I am probably unable by the laws of libel to name names, but if you are a singer with a successful review in a magazine or paper, and you are approached by an A&R man representing a company offering to 'Audition' you in London with a view to furthering your career, erase it immediately, and try and block the address. Unfortunately they keep on at you by firing Emails if you don't reply. I told them to naff off but I'm not sure that works.
The whole thing is a scam very similar to that practiced upon aspiring Models a few years ago. 'Pay us money and we will send your photos round the world etc.etc.' You had to 'Audition' for that as well.
It seems this bunch of Sh*t Weasels are targeting Folk Musicians at the moment, so a word to the wise
Keep Safe (in every way)
Nick

I just got one of those! & as always when I want to know more about something in junk mail I typed in the organisation's name & found posts on reddit about them. They stink!

The email came thru on the club's address & as we don't have any music on our site, & I'd received similar emails from a US radio station years ago, I was suspicious. It would have been interesting to read the whole email, not just the subject line, but I never open stuff in trash.

Don't correspond with them. Send the emails into Spam.

Marin Lewis says you can forward the emails to the National Cyber Security Centre at report@phishing.gov.uk

Thanks both for the warning, and for that coinage "sh*t weasel". I hope it enters the Tradition.

As Nick describes it, it's dishonest but it isn't phishing, and you'd be wasting your time trying to get it actioned as such.
