The sad passing of Micca set me thinking about past Mudgathers. When this virus crisis is over, how about one in Skipton, Yorkshire? Lovely place with good transport links and a short bus ride for me :-) Next spring/summer?

Possibly. Would Leeds be more central for people if we have anyone there who could arrange. I'm in York now so Skipton a bit of a trek but might be able to make it anyway if it was there

Brody's. The folk club is currenty at the Narrow Boat and it is a good room - I can ask if that could be used as the folk club is on Mondays. But let's not get too far ahead :-)

i have a friend who has a house in japan and one in skipton, by the royal shepherd. i have been there many times and, though in yorkshire, it is a pleasant town. the highlight for me is the Sound Bar - a 2nd hand vinyl shop and bar, very appealing to guys of a certain age. but who knows what entertainments will survive this government. We got married from jap dave's house at the registry office there 20 odd years back. i'm always more than a happy for an excuse to go there

As I was thinking about trips around the UK post-lockdown, it crossed my mind that I hadn’t been to Skipton Castle for years and I wouldn’t mind going back. Not immediately post-lockdown - I’ll still be practising social distancing. So, although I haven’t been a very active member of Mudcat for a while, I wouldn’t mind a sidle along.

Skipton castle is lovely. We have annual tickets that run out this month I think. I guess they will suspend them until the crisis is over. If not we may not renew them anyway. Our grandsons always wanted to go when they were with us but they have not asked for ages.

Agree Narrow Boat fine. Been to FC many a time, 70miles for me. Good FC at Keighley too. Depends on pub and club reopening one day. Never been to a mudgather.
