Subject: Aniversary cues for song performances From: JHW Date: 05 Feb 21 - 04:34 PM Lately we have had suggestions for January songs then February songs. While we were out singing for real pre-covid19 I had fallen into the perhaps bad custom of singing songs mentioning the current month or if I could even the exact date of an earlier event or disaster. Downside is that all the other songs have been rather sidelined. |
Subject: RE: Aniversary cues for song performances From: Tattie Bogle Date: 05 Feb 21 - 08:25 PM I sing certain songs in the anniversary months too, e.g Spencer the Rover in November, and Ellen Vannin (the Hughie Jones song) in early December. But if I do them near to the date, that leaves the rest of the month for other songs. |
Subject: RE: Aniversary cues for song performances From: Joe Offer Date: 05 Feb 21 - 08:46 PM Use the Filter and search for Happy! and set the age back to "all." Then do the same for for Happy? That will bring up a daily listing for Abby Sale's legendary "Happy" Archive, which chronicles musical events for each day of the year. I've tried to amplify the titles so you know what they're about, but I see I didn't finish that project. Another thing for me to get back to work on.... Oh, and there's a Happy! happy? Happy! Index (PermaThread), so maybe I DID finish the job. -Joe- |
