We are sorry to have to announce the cancellation of our Fastnet Sea Shanty Festival planned for 19 21June 2021. The current situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is a worry for all, and no matter how matters progress in the next month or so we have decided it would not be appropriate to continue with our plans for this year. This is a big disappointment for us but the health and safety of our visitors, from home and overseas and for those involved with the organisation of the Festival is our number one priority.

Again I am sorry that we cannot proceed but in the meantime please be careful and stay safe. 2021 gig will be honoured for june weekend of 19 2022 .
Whether a small low key singaround or and music session takes place is in the balance depending on circumstances over the next 2 to3 months

Sad news for those of us who love this festival but it's good to see that plans are in place for 2022. For those who have never been, it's well worth a visit next year.

Is this the Rosses Point festival in Sligo or are we supposed to guess where it is?

The thread title isn't particularly helpful.

Thanks.

Perhaps you might ask a moderator to change the title of this thread?

Details of Rosses Point's plans are here.

Rosses Point festival

The organisers hope to run a 'virtual festival'.

Sandman, (if you haven't already) it might be worth notifying
https://www.ukfolkfestivals.co.uk/ireland.php#June
about the postponement.

They seem to be the most comprehensive festival lister these days.

It's not necessarily a misleading thread title. I thought people would add news of other Irish festivals for this year and next.
