all of a sudden my headphones quit working. No obvious physical problems. Just quit working. I have looked into settings and don't see what I should do.

Hi, MG - If you have a windows 10 computer, you should have a little search box at the bottom left corner of your screen. If you search for sound settings, you'll get to all the sound controls and some troubleshooting apps.

Are your headphones attached via cable or Bluetooth?

I have sometimes to fiddle with the sound settings to get my Bluetooth headphones to connect. And there was a recent Windows update (a few weeks ago) that completely trashed the headphone/Bluetooth driver so I had to update and install a driver.

Does any of this sound possible in your case?

thanks everyone. there was a magic fairy inside my computer that installed new drivers and now it works.
