Subject: Gibson Hummingbird 12string From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 27 Jul 21 - 01:17 PM A local guitarist friend has picked one of these (and an Axeman electroacoustic 6 string)at a yard sale for not much money. I believe the Gibson alone could be worth £3-4k and the Axeman a couple of hundred pounds, am I right (I'm not a guitarist). RtS |
Subject: RE: Gibson Hummingbird 12string From: gillymor Date: 28 Jul 21 - 08:37 AM I owned a 6 string Hummingbird for a brief time back in the '70's but I never was aware that Gibson made a 12 string HB back in those days but I see they made a limited run of them a few years ago that weren't cheap and seem to be fetching a pretty high price as a used instrument. You might want to check the serial number against Gibson records which are pretty easily found on the net. |

Subject: RE: Gibson Hummingbird 12string From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 17 Jul 22 - 11:05 AM Update. He put it up for sale today for £65. I copied his post (with photos) to the Mudcat Facebook page. It sold the same day, I don't know how much for. RtS |
Subject: RE: Gibson Hummingbird 12string From: gillymor Date: 17 Jul 22 - 02:16 PM "£65". Is that a typo? |
Subject: RE: Gibson Hummingbird 12string From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 18 Jul 22 - 03:50 AM No. I had showed him my earlier research but that's what he advertised it for. RtS |
