Heard a bit this morning. Though the harmony arrangement is fine and was complex to achieve I prefer a solo voice.

I thought it was a lovely programme. Up to now the version I knew was the one by the Voice Squad (I once heard them singing it live) which I think is beautiful, but I enjoyed everything I heard on the show, and Karine, as ever, was wonderful.

I've got a love of the late Ronnie Drew singing this beautiful song in his harsh but beautiful voice.

My favourite version of this song is by 'The High Kings'... a well known Irish folk group. I used to sing this at folk clubs in the 1970s and currently have a version on Youtube.       https://youtu.be/3xz9z6Qfm90

"The Parting Glass is a Scots tune that predates Auld Lang Syne but was overshadowed by Robert Burns' popular song.' ...the BBC's introduction

Hopefully whoever wrote the above for the BBC's intro has been told by now that a) The Parting Glass is a Scots song and (b) that Burns didn't write Auld Lang Syne.
A very enjoyable podcast for a' that.

Very interesting programme. Well worth a listen, especially if you are familiar with the song. Well done to all who put it together.
