We have just returned fom a meeting of the Edwin Waugh Dialect Society where we were shocked to learn that Les died last Saturday. I don't have any more details as yet.

Yes we had a phone call a couple of days ago. We've known Les for decades. Sad news. The next 'Off the rails' will be a celebration of his talent I'm sure. Bye old friend.

The funeral was a bitter sweet day. Like most funerals I suppose. It was heart breaking to say good bye to an old pal who helped me in many many ways, but a joy to meet up with old friends. I'm sure that's what Les would have wanted.
