From: GUEST,Harry

Just heard about this but not listened yet:

"A new weekly radio programme of Folk music on our local Radio station CandoFm.

Our show is called Eavesdropper and goes out weekly on a Monday night at 8pm for an hour. This week was our first show, hosted by Les Ord or Gordon Jones.

CandoFM is a community radio station based in Barrow-in-Furness. It is broadcast online (www.candofm.co.uk) and on 106.3FM to the Barrow and Furness communities plus on 107.3 to Ulverston and surrounding area.

It is also available on DAB+ Across North Lancashire & South Cumbria."

The show only seems to be available to listen live at the moment; no "listen again" facility.

Harry

Hi,
I am i California which is 8 hours behind UK.
So it will be 12 p.m. noon here.
Can I go to a link on-line to hear it? What would be the link and once there, what would I need to click on to hear it?
Thanks,
Lin

There is no "www" in that link.

candofm.co.uk/ (update: now not loading at all)

The site says it is migrating so I'm not sure what it normally looks like. There was a way to play the current offering (I think that's what it was - something contemporary).

The stream is currently here if you want to record the programme:
https://streaming01.zfast.co.uk/proxy/candofm_main
(That link is for an audio player; it will not work in a browser.)

beware of Daylight Saving Time & British Summer Time they may change on different weeks.

They did when I worked at a firm based in Cincinnati - their e-mail system all employees had to use (with calendar) was based there. Contractors were just told about meetings! OK - after the first year of buying the company maybe they sorted it.

BTW That URL doesn't work - this is a link that gets you to some pages of of Cando FM - (opens in new tab)

Last night when I posted it the site said it was migrating and had a streaming screen in view. I'll remove that link. The link that Mr. Red put up is through the streaming app called TuneIn.com - if it works for the station then that one is a keeper and would be using the free version of the app. It isn't the actual station itself.

The site's been up and down all day. Your link has worked intermittently throughout the day, Stilly, sonetimes with a very long delay.

However the stream itself has continued playing, and is available from several internet radio sites.

Depending on your device, you might be able to play it in your browser here.

Apologies if I caused some confusion.

I received an email from Les at Furness Tradition informing me of the show and I just copied and pasted the info from that email.

Their new website is now up
https://candofm.co.uk/

No schedules yet, and no mention of this folk programme AFAICS.

(I recorded it, but haven't yet listened to it.)

Pleasant enough - traditional-ish tunes and songs, minimal chat. But interspersed with horrible station jingles at twice the volume which makes it unlistenable for me. (My wife shouted "Turn it off!")

The presenter should just tell us what the station is in his normal voice, or get some jingles recorded by local acoustic artists so they fit in.

He said it was followed by a programme of 'Americana' BTW.
