CBS Sunday morning with Ted Koppel today.
They talked about Idaho and Oregon and how the government doesn't listen to the out voted. A rural guy wants credit for wanting 68% of Oregan added to Idaho instead of using a 2nd ammendement solution.

Poll for dividing the US into a blue US ad a red US is strongly favored by 7%. Strongly opposed 57%.
The somewhat favor or somewhat disfavor folks were 17& and 19%

I tend to think our biggest threat is water. The lack of it and the floods. Political and economic changes are secondary.

The 2024 election has not happened yet.
The assumption that the world will not be blown up before 2024, because of two super powers,or that the expansion of NATO to include ukraine will not result in world war but that suddenly after the election of 2024, America will instantly have its biggest threat is ridiculous and vacuous

Putin identifies as a white Christian nationalist. American white christian nationalists identify anyone that is not a WCN as the other, just like Muslims identify the other/them as the infidel. I call these folks, the American Taliban.
J'accuse Sandman of American hatred unless he equally condemns all nations of armament manufacture. Check out the Belgium clearing house of weaponry. Go to their convention if you are allowed. It is true we spend 5 times as much on weapons than other nations.

Well obesity is a time bomb in the US and in lots of other countries. Putin with his nuke sabre-rattling is a perceived threat who is probably more of a paper tiger in terms of a threat to the US. But a Trump victory in 2024 would be a threat to the whole world. Last time I looked, the US is still part of that world.

I am not a supporter of Trump but the fact s so far are that his foreign policy is less aggressive than Biden.
yes, i do condemn all nations that manufacture armaments but America tops the list as regards spending, it spend 3 times more than Russia, America gets involved over and over again in wars or sends drones to attack countries, thousands of miles from its borders.
its domestic gun laws seem to facilitate mass shootings and general violence

How would the USA react if russia and china formed an alliance similiar to Nato and put missiles close to the USA. They would consider it a big threat,
Gorbachov made an agreement with the west, in which it was agreed Nato would not move further east, the west by trying to include ukraine in Nato has broken that agreement.

As for your boy, trump, its pretty obvious that the only foreign policies he undertook were those that served his self interest, he wasn't a president, he is a predator.
A GOP victory in the upcoming midterms is the biggest immediate threat we face because if they get control it will be difficult to ever get them to relinquish it again through the democratic process, a process they don't have much respect for now that trump has shown them how to get around it.

America is bigger than most countries and has four dangerous adversaries, three of them nuclear:

Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran (at least for now).

If the U.S. is such a menace, why hasn't it taken over Mexico and most of South America? Nobody has nukes there, and their militaries are weak and corrupt. Lots of natural resources too.

Clearly letting this thread stay open gives Dick a place to vent his spleen. It isn't an attractive sight.

Trump had no "foreign policy," Dick, because he was eyeing the main chance - which of those dictators and other world leaders would let him with his pointy-headed children build hotels or casinos on their territory, or pay him to do nothing, just to curry favor.

We don't need to be reading world views from another Trump apologist. The last one isn't allowed to post here any more (though he was kicked out for other things, not Trump).

This thread isn't about "threats to America" it's a chance to bash the place and bicker. I believe it has run it's course.
